Personalised Care Planning

  • Holistic assessments that include sensory needs, communication preferences, mobility, mental health and daily living abilities.
  • Goal-oriented support plans tailored to promote independence, participation and community engagement.
Specialist Communication Support
  • Access to British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters, Deafblind intervenors and speech-to-text services.
  • Support with communication aids: hearing loops, screen readers, braille devices, etc.
  • Staff can be trained in Makaton, BSL, deafblind manual alphabet or tactile communication techniques.
Specialist Health & Therapy Services

Referrals to:

  • Sensory impairment specialists (e.g., Hearing or Vision Support Teams).
  • Occupational therapists to maximise safe daily functioning.
  • Orientation & mobility specialists (e.g., cane or guide dog training).
Independent Living Skills Training

Daily living support for:

  • Meal prep using adapted tools.
  • Money handling, shopping and budgeting.
  • Personal hygiene and grooming using tactile or visual cues.
  • Travel training: using public transport, GPS tools and mobility aids.
Social Inclusion & Emotional Support

Support to:

  • Join local groups, attend events or access employment/volunteering.
  • Reduce social isolation through peer support networks and befriending services.
  • Emotional support and referrals to counselling services tailored for people with sensory impairments.
